Just Add Ink - 148 Christmas!!

The very last challenge at Just Add Ink this year is just add Christmas!!!

I really love this time of year where everyone is happier and relaxed.  Also I love finding just the right present for the people I love.

So today I've got some packaging ideas you can use to put that perfect present in.

These two gift bags are actually one recycled wine bag - I just cut it in two so that I could have the right sized package for each present.

I just love the Cherry Cobbler Tulle Ribbon I've used on this first bag and the little box at the bottom.  It can be used in so many ways!

These little red trees are flocked stickers that I bought at spotlight last year. Only had a few left so decided I needed to use them up :)
I left a bunch of space in the middle of this bag so I could write the name of my work Secret Santa recipient - that way I didn't have to worry about a tag or card!

How cute is this little box!
You can buy everything I've used on this project from the Stampin' UP! catalogue (YES even that sweet little box)

I think my favourite one is the little box - which one to you do you like?

I hope these little projects give you some inspiration to create some lovely packaging for your gifts.
Don't forget to hop over to JAI and show us your 'Christmas' entry - the challenge is open for two weeks so that will give you plenty of time to put an entry in!

This will probably be my last post for the year so I just like to thank all my lovely followers even though I haven't been in this space very much in the past few months.
Thanks for all your lovely comments, I really appreciate everyone of them and the time you take to leave them.

Merry Christmas to you and your families.
Keep safe and be Merry!

Hugs and Kisses

Just Add Ink 142 - Sketch

This week at Just Add Ink we've got a very cool sketch to work with!

When I created this card a was in the mood to use some pink.  So pink and white it is!!

I've taken a little bit of a creative licence with the sketch and instead of using a square I've used my Framelets - Lables Collection.

If you'd like any details about this card just shoot me an email.

Here is the sketch

Hop on over to JAI and check out the inspiration from the other Design Team Members - there are some stunners!

I'm super keen to see your take on this sketch so link up your creation.

Home Rennovations

Happy Sunday Bloggy Friends :)

Well as you've noticed I haven't been around much in blog land lately and that's because I've been busy doing home renovations!

We've completed one room so I thought I'd show you the pictures of the progress.

The after shot isn't quite how it will look in the future because we've moved our queen bed in there so we can make a start on the master room.  It's a bit of a tight squeeze with the big bed in this room but hopefully it will only be for a few weeks.

It's taken a little while to get this room down cause we've been doing everything our selves and we've been learning along the way.  With all this renno work it hasn't left me much time for crafting unfortunately.

This is the first room of many so I can't see myself getting back full swing in to crafting for some time yet!!

Once again here is the before and after -

I hope you all enjoyed a little peek into my world right now.

I'm sorry for not commenting on your blogs as much as I have wanted too but believe me I'm still reading them every day :)

Relax and enjoy the rest of your Sunday afternoon!

Just Add Ink 140 - Chevrons

Aren't you just loving chevrons at the moment?  I know I am...... really thinking of adding some into my home decor. I've seen some pretty curtains and cushions on pinterest and I'm seriously considering getting some.

So you might have guessed that this week at Just Add Ink we are adding ^^^CHEVRONS^^^ to our creations.

I've got chevrons on both my papers and do you think I could also include the ends on my ribbon too?

This new cotton ribbon from Stampin' UP! is so easy to work with!  I was worried that it would be very thick but it's so thin and soft.  You can also stamp on it too and I think Christine (one of the other DT members) has done just that for her card this week - love products that are versatile.

Seriously there is some amazing work by the Design Team this week so I really hope you pop over to their blogs and leave them some comment love. All of the DT would love to see your creation so please link up here.

Now get creating!!!!

Get well butterflies!

Hello lovelies!

Today I've got a cute little card to show you that I created using this weeks muse, Julia over at CASE Study.

Her card is square however I decided to use a rectangle layout but think I've kept this card fairly similar to her design.  Julia used pink and craft as the main colours on her card and so have I except I've chosen different hues!!!

BFF gave me the Papillon Potpourri stamp set as part of my birthday present recently so I couldn't wait to put it to use.  The butterflies are so delicate and pretty in this set - heart them!!.

I've used
Paper - Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Kasiercraft DSP

Ink - Crumb Cake, Pink Pirrouette and Early Espresso
Stamp Set - Papillon Potpourri
Other: White embossing powder, Whisper White ribbon and Rhinestones

This is Julia's card that was the inspiration from CASE Study -

Happy Monday!

Just Add Ink #138

Ohh yay I just loooooooove the colour combo this week at Just Add Ink - Summer Starfruit, Basic Grey and Whisper White!

Have you used the new colour Summer Starfruit yet?  I think its a great colour (so in fashion right now) and would actually make a good yellow for a male card.

I've used
Paper - Summer Starfruit, Basic Grey, Whisper White and Basic Grey DSP.

Ink - Summer Starfruit, Kraft and Basic Black
Stamp Set - Stippled Blossoms
Other: Summer Starfruit satin ribbon, Embossing powder and Scallop trim border punch

Here is the colour combo

Seriously the Design Team have outdone themselves this week so you should pop over and check out their work.

I can't wait to see how you use this fun colour combo!

Thank you!

This card is for my BFF (I haven't posted it to her yet but it will arrive in the snail mail soon!).
It's a Thank You card to say a big thanks for the lovely gifts she gave me for my Birthday recently. She spoiled me rotten!!

I've used the theme at Addicted to Stamps and More which is 'Spring' and combined it with the sketch at Clean and Simple.

It seems like it's been such a loooong time since I've played along with any challenges and I've got a few new stamp sets I've been meaning to break into so the public holiday today was the perfect opportunity to do both.

I've used
Paper - Gumball Green, Crumb Cake and Very VanillaInk - Gumball Green
Stamp Set - Blooming with Kindness, Bity Banners and Bordering with Elegance
Other: Gumball Green satin ribbon and pearls

Here is the sketch from Clean and Simple

I hope you all enjoy your week!

Just Add Ink 136 - Kids!

Sorry ladies I thought I'd scheduled this post for this morning but obviously I didn't!!

It's FRIDAY!! Woohoo!

And Friday means a new challenge at Just Add Ink.
The challenge this week is just add Kids!  How much fun are kids cards to make? I know I love to use brighter colours and enjoy being a bit more playful :)

I really wanted to use the 'I dig you' stamp set but all the vehicles were facing the same way and I needed one to face the other way.  So I decided to stamp them all on vellum and then flip one the other way!

(sorry about this picture it's a bit wonky!)

I've used
Paper - Basic Grey, Whisper White and Vellum
Ink - Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade and Basic Black
Stamp Set - I dig you
Other: Twine

You should see the fun kiddies cards that the other Design Team members have created - pop over check them out and don't forget to show us your take on the kid theme!!

Just Add Polka Dots!!!!!!!

What a fantastic challenge this week at Just Add Ink - just add Polka Dots!

When ever I'm unsure about what DSP to use I always turn to polka dots. They suit any type of card whether it be a masculine or feminine card.

This card was fairly quick to make and it was a great way to use up some smaller pieces of card stock and dsp that I had.

The rhinestones added a special little sparkle that the card needed!

I've got a busy weekend ahead with interstate guests and birthday celebrations for my other half so I doubt I'll have any time for crafting!  However I hope you'll get some time to check out the inspiration from the Design Team members over at JAI and enter in your Polka Dot creation.

Happy Friday

Dinner en Blanc

Tonight I'm off to something very exciting here in Brisbane....... Dinner en Blanc!

What is Dinner en Blanc??
Thousands of people, dressed all in white, and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space (which is secret until the last minute).
It was first launched in Paris 20 years ago and tonight will be the first one here in Australia!

So I've been out shopping to find all my white goodies - who knew it was so hard to find a nice pair of white pants?!

I'll pop back soon with some pictures from the night!!
squeal!
I'm very excited.

Also I've got a post at The Stamp Spot today so pop over and have a looksie.
Here is a little sneaky....

Just Add Ink 132 - Sketch Challenge

Hi Bloggy readers!
It's Friday which means another great challenge from JAI.  This week there is a fantastic sketch to use.

This week it was a special young boys Birthday so I whipped up this card for him using the sketch for inspiration.

How cute are these industrial looking metal buttons! I've got a massive stash of buttons and I just never know what I'll find in there when I go looking :)

Here is the sketch

Head over to the JAI blog and have a peek at the wonderful creations from the other Design Team members and I hope you find time to play along with the sketch!

Just Add Ink - Blue and Bling!

Yippee!!!!!
It's Friday..... which means it's nearly the weekend.

I haven't had much time for crafting lately and I only got back in the craft room (after 5 weeks away from it) to make this cute card for the JAI challenge.
The challenge this week is to add Blue and Bling to your creation.

You probably can't tell by looking at this card but it took me a looooooong time to make it as I'm slowly  settling into my new craft room and working out where everything is!

I've used some new and some retired SU! products on this card.  I was lucky enough to attend the SU! conference in Canberra this year as a guest... and I received the 'Worlds Greatest' stamp while I was there.
It's so versatile and can be used with so many different words to create very personalised card.

Check out the other Design Team members creations at the Just Add Ink blog, then get creating so we can see what you come up with!!!

Enjoy your weekend which I hope is filled with lots of crafty goodness :)

Just Add Ink 128 - Inspiration photo

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

My fellow design team member, Jodene at Just Add Ink has found a beautiful inspiration photo for us to work with this week,  It's filled with so many beautiful flowers with such fantastic colours.

Since the inspiration photo is of flowers I wanted them to be the main focus of my card and I think I've achieved that!

I've used sparklets for the middle of my flower and I think they are perfect with their surface mimicking the eye of a real flower.

If you need any details about this card just shoot me and email.

Here is the very pretty inspiration photo for the week -

I'd love to see how this photo inspires you so please pop over to JAI and link up you creation.

Have an amazing day!
xoxo

Just Add Ink - Sketch #126

Hi lovely blog readers!!

I've got a super quick post today using the sketch at Just Add Ink.

I really loved the sketch this week and found it really easy to pull this card together and of course with all the pink I've used on this card it was fun for me to make!

I used Stampin' UP!'s glitter paper for the balloon and also on the background strip of paper (just for an extra big hit of sparkles!!)

The cute image I've used is a digi image from Lori Designs and she's called Party Time Gabbi. This is the very first digi image I've coloured in!!!! I'm not sure if I like the digi images as much as stamped images because I found when I used my 'eraser' pen it also smudged the printed lines, perhaps I'm using the wrong printer ink?
Anyway it was fun trying something new!

Here is the sketch for this week and I do hope that I'll see your entry on the JAI site!

Addicted to Stamps challenge

There is a new challenge blog called 'Addicted to Stamps' and my BFF is a guest designer there!!!

So I thought I'd put an entry in :)

This weeks challenge is a 'Bingo Card' - basically you choose a line on the card and then you have to use the 3 items specified on the line.

I've chosen the Ribbon, Gems and Flowers line. I wasn't sure what to use as my 'gems' so I've used pearls

I've made this card for a couple of friends who recenly got married overseas and then had a very long honeymoon traveling around to so many places. (Insert jealous face here!!)  I can't wait to catch up with them, see all the pictures and hear all the great stories.

Here is the bingo card for the challenge this week -

Do go and check out the new challenge blog and pop in an entry!

It was a glorious day here in Brisbane such a change from the miserable weather we had last week!!
I hope you have all had a fabulous weekend.

Just Add Ink #124

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is to add Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, and Early Espresso!

For my card I've used the new stamp set currently on offer at Stampin' UP! called - Reason to Smile.
I stamped out the flowers 3 or 4 times and then fussy cut each layer out, this helped create a real 3D effect on the card.

I just love my champaign shimmer mist and I couldn't help and use it on these flowers to make them all sparkly!

I've used
Paper - Naturals Ivy, Marina Mist and Early Espresso
Ink - Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi
Stamp Set - Reason to smile
Other: Early Espresso ribbon, Frameletts, embossing folder and Pearls

Here is the colour pallet this week:

I hope you hop on over to the JAI site to see the amazing creations by the other Design Team ladies.
