End of year with a Summery card

I just wanted to wish every one a fantastic New Year!!!

Thank you for all those who have left beautiful comments for me over the year, they really keep me going! I appreciate every one of them.

So I'm going to leave you with a Summery card for the Just Add Ink challenge this week.

I've used some of the old Stampin UP! card stock - Green Galore and Yoyo Yellow.
I think both of these colours a very summery!!!

Happy New Year

Givit for Christmas

I was reading Anna Spiro’s blog Absolutely Beautiful Things the other day and saw her post about Givit

Givit is a web based community where people donate items and time to people in need. Givit is a not-for-profit organisation run by dedicated volunteers.

There is a Givit list where organisations are asking for specific household items that are needed for people who are doing it tough. There is also a section were you can list items you have that might be useful too.

This is basically based in Brisbane for now but I can see this going Australia wide soon!!!

I’ve already listed a few things on there that I’m not using any more and perhaps someone less fortunate than myself may be able to put them to good use.

I thought this was an amazing idea and a great way to help out our community especially at such a great time of need like Christmas.

You should see the buds they are just HUGE!

I like how he asked for a few pink roses to be put into the dozen - he knows me so well!!!!

THANK YOU T for making me smile and always being there for me.

Gift Tags

I'm so sorry I haven't been blogging much lately - I've missed it!!

I've been so busy, like I'm sure every one else is with Christmas party's and drinks at this time of the year. I've also traveled to Canberra for work but I did manage to stay a little bit longer so I could catch up with my BFF.
It was so good to see her and Gorgeous kid and spend some time with them just before Christmas.

I got home all ready to craft but when I looked at my desk it seemed like a bomb had hit it! It needed a HUGE clean up before I could do anything at all. So by the time I'd cleaned it up I only had enough energy to make a few little gift tags.

Only 6 sleeps till Christmas and I haven't started my shopping yet........... lucky for late night shopping :)

Wreath

Last night I was looking around in blog land as saw lots of people have been creating their own Christmas wreaths. I've made my wreaths before but usually out of native flowers.
Inspired by all the wonderful creations I saw this year I thought I'd try something different!!!

I don't know about you but sometimes when I'm in creative mood I have to make or do what ever it is I'm thinking about right then, other wise I become very restless.

So last night it was about 9.30pm (which is late for me!) when I decided I was going to make a wreath - I hadn't planned on this so I had nothing purchased to help me out. I went scouring around the house to find something that I could make the ring part of the wreath out of.
(You can just see it now, me turning the house up side down and T sitting there thinking 'what on earth is she doing'?)

I had almost given up hope of finding any thing when I had an idea but I wasn't sure if it would work out, but no harm trying it out right?

You'll never guess what I found.......... a cat tunnel! That's right you heard me a cat tunnel!
If you don't know what I'm talking about go here.

I had recently been given a new cat tunnel and was throwing out the old one as it was quite tatty. It was sitting beside the bin waiting to be taken out with the trash.

I cut all the fabric away from the wire, then with the help of T I bunched up all the wire and held it together with zip ties. In my search around the house I had gathered up a pile of things I could use on the wreath one of which was an old lace curtain.
I cut a few strips off and wrapped it around the wire, stuck a few paper flowers and butterflies on, then popped on the big bow - presto a very cute wreath!

Not bad for what used to be a cat tunnel - hey?

Hope you have a great weekend ahead of you :)

Simple Christmas cards

I'm not sure about these cards - do you think they are too plain?

I love the little flower in the corner and that is what started my inspiration for these cards, but now I'm not sure if they are just too simple.

Christmas Trees

So I've stuck to traditional colours again with these sparkly Snow Swirled Christmas trees.

I popped some crystal effects on, then sprinkled glitter over the top to give these beautiful trees some extra Christmas cheer!

I can't believe how quickly this year has gone and there is only one month left to go!!!
I've heard that time goes quicker as you get older, if that is true I'll be missing them with the blink of my eye with in no time!

Dasher

Well I'm back home from my traveling and my Christmas mojo is still here!! Yippee!

I've been busy creating more Christmas cards that I'll show you over the next few days. I've really enjoyed making them and I'm really starting to get into the Christmas spirit!

This is the first time my Dasher has seen ink - I just love this little guy!

I just love the traditional Christmas colours so I've stuck to Real Red and Garden Green for these two cards, with just a little touch of bling.

I hope you have a great week :)

Even more Christmas cards....

I'm on a roll with my Christmas cards this week!

On these cards I've used the So Swirled Christmas tree which I really like, it's one of my favourite stamp sets. I've added some bling as no Christmas tree is right with out a shimmery sparkle at the top!!!

I'm loving the satin ribbons from this years Stampin UP! catty, they really look very classy.

I've got to go away for work for a few days but when I get back I'll be jumping straight back into the craft room and hoping my Christmas mojo is still around.

More Christmas cards

How cute are these red felt Christmas trees????

I found them at my local Spotlight and just loooooove them! They are all joined together and are self adhesive.

I wanted to keep the cards simple so that the felt trees took the main focus.

I wish that I'd found the trees in green too as they would have looked fab also!

Starting Christmas cards

Ohhh it's about time I started on some Christmas cards!!! I can't believe how quickly it's come this year, I must get started on some shopping too!

This card was inspired by a clean and simple sketch earlier this month.

If you want the details for this card just drop me a line.

Hope you have had a fabulous weekend :)

First of the season

I have a new local market just near me that opened up 2 weeks ago and I finally got to check it out on Sunday.

There are all sorts of stalls from green grocers to second hand books!!!

BUT the greatest find was these beautiful Peony's - my favourite flower :)
They are the first of a very short season so I need to make the most of the coming weeks.

New storage!!!!

My collection of stamp sets has slowly been growing and my piles have been getting higher and wobblier!
I don't really have the best space available to put them and I've finally had enough of the messiness (see pic below).

I've been look around for some new storage and I saw this on ebay that I thought would be just perfect!! How cute would this be painted white!!! But I think it's going to sell for quite a pretty penny.

So Mum got me thinking that there may be something else out there that would be suitable. So we took a trip to Ikea today to see what they might have that would work.
I'm so glad we did because we found a very cute white stand that is just perfect!!!

We spent the afternoon putting it together and arranging all my stamp sets on it.

So what do you think??

I think it looks much neater!!!
Now to find some time to make some cards :)

Credit where credit is due!!!!

You all remember the card I made here as a thank you card for my lost package. Well I also made one very similar to give to my BFF and I totally forgot to give Adele and Lisa credit for it!!!

We made a very similar card at their catty launch party a few months back now. It was their card that gave me inspiration to make the others.

They are both great creators and Adele just got Top Pick at Just Add Ink this week - so pop over to their blog and check it out.

Thanks Adele and Lisa for giving me such wonderful inspiration!!!

Hugs and Kisses to you both

Order from America

I've been waiting for a little while for a big package of things to arrive from America. I ordered a few things since the Australian dollar is doing so well. It arrived while I was away so it was like Christmas when I got home!!!

I got a new tool caddy from Amy Butler, goodies from Paper Tray Ink and C.C.Designs - can't wait to start using it all :)

Sorry this picture is poor quality but I was in such a rush to unpack it all I all most forgot to even take a snap.

I hope you have all had a lovely Monday.

Lost Package

Last week my BFF sent me a HUGE parcel of Stampin UP! things, I was soooooooooo excitied to be getting a whole stack of new products.

But it wasn't delivered on the day it was suppose to be, nor the next....... we were both worried.
We contacted postal service several times to find out where the package had been delievered, but to no avail.

My heart was broken, no new products and several hundereds of dollars down the drain. It was now 5 days after it was to be delivered so I had come to the conclusion that I would never see it.

That is until a WONDERFUL person from 2 streets over knocked on my door - package in hand!!!
Apparently it had been delievered to her house by mistake. I was OVER THE MOON!!!!

So I decided to make her a little Thank You card and pop it over to her house with a bottle of champers.

Here is what I made.

It's not often you find honest people like that these days and I am so grateful that there are.
So again a big THANK YOU to this amazing lady.

ps I'm headding down to Canberra to see my BFF this week, which I'm totally excitied about!!
Unfortunately I have to do some work for my day job while I'm there too and that means no crafting for nearly a week!!!!

Halloween

Happy Halloween!!

We don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia but I think it's an awesome opportunity to have a fun party. So that is exactly what I did!!

We had a costume party and everyone who came really go into it and went to huge efforts to dress up.

For those of you who know the TV series True Blood you will recognise who I dressed up as, but for those of you who don't I'm Sookie Stackhouse the main character.

Here is a pic of my sister, who went as Jessica and myself

Here is a pic of the real character Sookie

I was super impressed how my costume turned out!!!!!

Well I did have a few drinks last night to celebrate so I think I'm going to have an afternoon snooze.

I hope you have a great Halloween :)

Junkin'

Have you heard the term Junkin'? I've heard it a few times lately and ..... well..... I love Junkin!

If you haven't heard of it, it is where you go to garage sales or kerbside collections and the like and pick up a bargain. I'm sure my love for Junkin is in my genes as my Dad is exactly the same.

So on the weekend I went Junkin and I found this very cute little out door setting.

I just adore it BUT I've got no where to put it :(

So I've popped it up on ebay, fingers crossed someone else finds it just as cute as I do!!

Clean and Simple # 112

I was playing around with my copics the other day and coloured in these cute little bells.
When I saw the Fall to layout sketch this week I thought I'd try and create something with the bells. I didn't quite stick to the sketch as it was supposed to be a square card.

I was a little disappointed that the white embossing of 'Always and Forever' at the top didn't stand out as much as I thought it would.

I've used:
Paper
- Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Lost and Found patterned paper

Ink
-
Copics, Versamark and White Embossing powder
Stamp Set - Mini messages - Kaszazz
Other: Nestabilities, Martha Stewart doily punch, pearls and white ribbon

Here is the sketch
